Tesla Just Made Millions of Cars ‘Legacy’ with New FSD Split

Tesla reached a quiet but significant threshold this week in its push for autonomous driving. According to data from tracking site TeslaFi and the @AboutTesla account, more than 70% of eligible Hardware 4 (HW4) vehicles in North America are now running the latest Full Self-Driving software, version 14.2.1.25. The software is paired with the company’s Holiday Update 2025.44.25.5. While this represents only about 12% of the company’s global fleet, it effectively covers nearly every Tesla manufactured since late 2023. For industry observers, this signals a shift from tentative beta testing to mass data collection.
