Autonomous vehicles will likely operate in the District of Columbia
Waymo robotaxis are available in at least five major cities, and soon they could be driving around the District without human supervision. “We have plans to hopefully deploy our service in 2026, and so I think that the more we can start those conversations, the smoother the deployments will be,” said Matthew Walsh, who works in policy and government affairs at Waymo. Walsh made the comment at a recent transportation forum at George Washington University.
