Robotaxis are becoming prevalent in some major U.S. cities, but they continue to remain novelties in severa; others. In cities such as Atlanta and Austin, companies like Uber and Lyft started providing rides in driverless vehicles earlier this year, though some riders started to have to go out of their path to hail one. In Washington, DC, self-driving cars can be seen, Google’s Waymo is testing them, but they are not yet broadly accessible to people.
