Will self-driving cars and robotaxis bring us Jaywalking 2.0?

I have long been skeptical of autonomous or self-driving cars, writing about them since 2011 and quoting the head of VW in 2018 who said, “The complexity of solving this problem is like a manned mission to Mars.” I also wondered how autonomous cars would co-exist with pedestrians. There were so many problems that by 2019, I concluded that AVs were years, perhaps decades away.
