New LIDARs from Waymo and others produce amazing results
A recent clip of Waymo’s perception stack shows both good perception, but also the quality of Waymo’s latest LIDAR. We also saw impressive output earlier this year from Argo, whose primary funder is Ford. In both cases, the LIDAR is developed in house (or was acquired) and this is also true at Aurora and Yandex YNDX -2.2%, and there are also a huge range of independent LIDAR companies trying to produce LIDARs to sell to these teams and to auto OEMs.
