Apollo’s 1202 program alarm, the 737MAX and driverless cars

On a scale of one to ten of difficulty and danger, Neil Armstrong thought walking around on the moon was about a one. Landing on the moon, Armstrong said, was “a thirteen.” Events of July 20, 1969 would prove him disturbingly right, with the scariest computer message of the twentieth century (as detailed in my book Digital Apollo).
